Our story

Privonta was founded by technology entrepreneurs with two decades of experience building enterprise software for Indian organisations — including education ERP platforms serving institutes across the country and data security products protecting business information worldwide.

When the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 arrived, we saw the same pattern everywhere: organisations that wanted to do the right thing with personal data, but had no realistic way to find it, govern it, or prove compliance. Global tools were built for GDPR budgets. Consultants produced reports, not working systems. Most organisations were left exposed.

So we built Privonta Shield — combining the Siccura Regula operational sensitivity governance platform with hands-on compliance services designed for Indian realities: local-first deployment, plain-language artefacts, and pricing that works for an SME or a school, not just an enterprise.

What we believe

• Data should stay with its owner. Compliance tooling should never require shipping your personal data to someone else's cloud. Everything we deploy is local-first.
• Explainability builds trust. Every classification, every access decision, every consent record should be auditable and explainable — to regulators, auditors and the people whose data it is.
• Compliance is continuous. A one-time audit report expires the day it's printed. Real compliance is a living system of discovery, protection, control and traceability.
• Every fiduciary matters. The Act applies to a two-person startup and a national bank alike. Both deserve a path to compliance that fits their means.

Our roots in education technology run deep: the team behind Privonta also builds SUMS ERP, used by education institutes for admissions, examinations and student lifecycle management. That experience shapes how we design compliance for real operational environments.
